Last night I tried at 2 different Kohl's to use the coupon, but was told they couldn't accept it at the first store I stopped at, but at the 2nd store, the clerk confiscated my coupon and demanded to know where I got it from! Wait, it gets better...
When I tried to explain that it was an online coupon, the cashier kept talking over me and telling me it was fraud. I just stared at him, then asked politely, "If you wanted me to tell you where I got the coupon, maybe you should stop talking and listen to my answer." His response, "It doesn't matter what your answer is", while he kept right on talking about how bad internet coupons are and how they get people's hopes up.
Needless to say, I walked out of the store in disgust while the cashier kept right on talking, even as I neared the door, he was at this point yelling at me from about 25+ feet away.
My sincerest apologies to everyone that tried to use this coupon and wasn't successful. Hope fully you were given better customer service than I was!

OMG! That's awful. What a bummer! I had this happen to me at a JC Penney's once. I had found the coupon online, and apparently they were emailed to select cardholders and not the general public. If that's the case, why don't they put that on the coupons? It's not difficult to personalize coupons--CVS does it all the time. The blame is on the stores for not being clear, not with the consumer.
I would write a complaint to Kohls. There is no reason to treat you like that. If the coupon wasn't intended to be used by the masses fine but you didn't know that and shouldn't be humiliated in front all of those people. A simple we are sorry but we can't accept that coupon would have been more than enough. This guy should be fired for his behavior or at least reprimanded.
Amanda & Tiffany - thank you. It's nice to know I'm not the only person this has happened to, and I think a nice complaint is in order. I didn't appreciate the way the situation was handled at all.
OMG! the exact same thing happened to me when i tried using a $5 off coupon for signing up for their emails. The girl was yelling at me in front of others. When i emailed to complain, i never received a response, absolutely NOTHING from Kohls
Ouch, if that's the response I receive - they'll lose another customer! Don't they realize how lucky they are to get our business? There are sooo many other palces we could be shopping, they need to work harder to keep their customers.
That was hateful! I've had problems with internet coupons before. I've also had problems with coupons that manufactures have sent me. Really! The coupons that they print and sent without the reflective stamps were refused with a fuss. You would think that with so many places going out of business they would at least be civil to future customers.
SonyaAnn - You're a girl after my own heart - that's exactly what I think, if so many stores are going out of business - wouldnt' they want to try a little harder to keep our business?
The reason you people had problems with the coupons is that someone is just making up coupons and they are not legitimate, they copy something official looking and post it. Who can blame the store, people are ripping them off!
